England Home Page

Having spent a few days with the Pommies we are on our way for our trip. Over the next few weeks we'll be travelling from the bottom of England upto Scotland. Only a few hundred miles compared to some of the driving we have done in Australia. Gai has booked us into pubs for all of our stays so it should be from some interesting times. Being the festive season too, we hope to see towns at night and have the Christmas feel for when we get home on Christmas Eve. So we decided to start our trip in Cornwell, where Gai's family originally came from and also close to my roots. The Pommies lent us their Tom Tom, which without we would have been lost many times and this saved us countless hours of just trying to find our way.

Crusing the highway. Gai
learns to take photos on the move.

It's winter time.
It's great to have seasons again.

Tom Tom hard at work.
We re-named him Jeeves.

Cruise control would have
been good on the car !.

Down to two lanes now.
Traffic is getting less.

Over the hill are wind mills.
Time for a fuel stop too.

And windy it was too.
You know why these were put here.

Plenty of lovely
rolling country side.

And some
more.

Single lane roads now.
We must be getting closer.

Day1..It's been a
big drive.

OOh..Traffic congestion.
Great to be off freeways.

Our home for the next four days.
It was a great place to stay.

The bar - only vacant during breakfast
time. Many a cold beer was had here.

Our room. Quaint, cosy.
and comfortable.

the size of the bedroom.

Shower - I cold write a book about
the different showers we had.

A typical street.
Just wide enough for one car.

Looking out to
Mount St. Michael

The skyline dotted by
the church domes and spires.

Rest time. Clive

One of the many
carparks around the harbour.

Another lookout to

These stone walls
really impressed me.
