Day 9, 20/12/06, Home Page

Catching the bus was an experience. You have to have the correct change and I asked for two tickets and the bus driver kept pointing to the machine. Well it's fine if you travel daily there but I don't even use public transport in Australia, so needless to say when we had finished for the day we caught a cab back to the hotel. Was a bit dearer but at least there was no grief. Edinburgh Castle and it's views are amazing. You can understand the horror attacking forces might have had in the past whilst trying to take over the Castle. It was cold up there as the clothing will contest even though it was meant to be 8 degrees. We were going to have breakfast but decided on a bit of extra sleep, so we finally left about 10.30. After alighting the bus we walked up the hill. Lunch was had in the Castle at the 1 O'Clock Restaurant. The glass windows of the restaurant allow you to look out over part of the city.
