We had half day free so decided to go to the Botanic Gardens. Entry to the gardens is free - however our main purpose here was to visit the Orchid Gardens - where there are around 6000 plants. Truly a beautiful place.

size of the Gardens.

The flowers line the
major pathways.

The entrance to the
Orchid Gardens.

These are orchids
that are gold dipped.

Just after the entrance.
Water dislays are also a feature.

Beds of the same plants
make spectular displays.

The prettiest flower
in the garden.

These arches of the 'Golden Shower'
are all around the paths.

another water feature.

More
orchids.

A test of the
macro lense.

And yet
another.

The perfect wedding spot
overlooking the gardens.

Yet more
orchids.

They'll grow on anything
if you stand still long enough.

The sign says
it all.

Another beautiful
water feature.

The mist house where a high
humidity is maintained.

Orchids from around
the world are here too.

More
orchids.

And yet - still
more orchids.

This was an interesting
mossy statue.

And yet - still
more orchids.

And yet - still
more orchids.

And yet - still more orchids,
but they do look pretty.

MMM - you guessed it,
another orchid.

And some
potted ones.

Can you spot the
odd flower.

The walk took over
an hour.

This lake features a
fountain and light show.
