December was a mixed month with me back on the Coast again. More jobs for Michael and Jess, plus some good walks with Teddy. This trip I was able to attend the St. Benedict's Christmas dinner which was held at the Wallaby Hotel. Michael kept me company as he knew people from thee church from when he used to be an alter server. A great night was had by all, with Jay leading the carol the 12 Days of Christmas. He was running around from table to table as each segment of the carol was sung by different people. Even the bar maid was involved as she got the 12th day.

The real reason for the trip was on the Sunday Michael and Jess were going to have their baby shower. This was held at the Pimpama Hotel and a wonderful afternoon was had by all. Some of Michael's school friends were there with their own families too. Jess had all her bridal party there as well. I don't know where they are going to put all these gifts as they have so much stuff already.

Their kitchen tap was replaced with a new one and also the beer fridge was finally upgraded to take two separate beer lines. He generally has two different types of beer in his fridge, so now he will be able to run both at once.

On the way back to the Bay, I collected John, who has been promising to visit for a long, long time. How long? Let's just say very long. He was good company towing the van back and when he leaves he'll he will fly out of the Bay with QANTAS. We ended up at the Waterfront Cafe for breakfast. This cafe is right on the edge of the beach, with views to Fraser Island and beyond.

On Christmas day I was invited to lunch with several people but decided on my own company. After Mass, a two hour walk up and down the beach, some of this spent talking to Gai and that was how I passed the morning. Lunch for me was sardines on toast with raw onion and at dinnertime the candle that Robyn gave me at Gai's funeral was lit. I'll keep this one for special occasions, as every night before dinner I light a candle.

No decorations or tree up this year. In fact the house looks just like normal. I did manage to send a few cards, but these were left unsigned as I couldn't just write my name. The only carols were the ones at Mass and on the radio. John Denver and the Muppets never got a hearing! Maybe next year.
