Day 6, 17/12/06, Home Page

Having been a fan of Robin Hood since my childhood days here was an opportunity too good to pass up. The sign said Sherwood Forest so off across country we went leaving the main road and wondering where we were going. When we finally came to a sign saying Sherwood Forest, all we saw was a lot of cleared land with this forest in the distance. Around a few more bends and then into a carpark amongst the trees. Being winter these were mostly bare but that was non deterrent. We went into the visitors centre and watched a video on the history of the forest and surrounding region. Very interesting. Oh to have been an outlaw hiding in the trees, hundreds of years ago.

Entrance. Even today there
were people everywhere.

Robin Hood versus
Little John.

Defined pathways to
stop you wandering.

These old trees
are everywhere.

Another
one.
