You know you are in Hong Kong - It's hot and humid.

After a good flight we arrive in Hong Kong at 10.50AM at Chek Lap Kok Airport. LAst time Clive went to Hong Kong in the 90's the airport was still on the mainland. The countryside is lush, green and hilly copmared to the city with it's derelict buildings, run down apartments but plenty of smart looking hotels.

We arrive at the Novotel Hotel on Nathan Road around 1.30PM and then go to check in. We're asked to go to the 15th floor for the Premier Check In. Being Premier Guests we have a free welcome drink, complimentary afternoon tea and happy hour from 6-8PM. No doubt we will use these benefits. Gai's feet are very swollen again, so some peaceful time in our room and then down to check out the afternoon tea and book in for dinner.

A brief walk down Nathan Road to see some shops with Clive being stopped constantly by people offering to make suits and shirts etc. The weather is hot and breathless so we found a small store and bought some drinks and chips then back to the cool comfort of the Hotel. We've also booked an afternoon tour tomorrow which takes 4-5 hours.

A very nice tea in the Hotel Restaurant. Clive had a Chicken Curry and Gai had the Duck. Then we watched a bit of the World Cup but it was really noisy after that had finished so back to our room and a good nights sleep.
